LED Bulbs or Led Light bars

Hi All, I bought a pair of LED headlight bulbs on ebay, they fitted alright but the headlight controls didn't work / the full beam control light on the dash would be on evan when the light are on dip setting. So I returned them to get a refund. And now am thinking about fitting a LED light bar instead & having a seperate light switch setup on a spare switch on dash board. What would say about this?

I had a similar set up on my VW campervan for dark areas, though you have to ensure they fused/ wired via a relay depending upon the LED wattage, a strong switch maybe be able to handle the wattage on it's own, though often best to have a relay for extra safety.
