Leak- Passenger Footwell- 2004 Micra

Hi All,

First time post here. I'm after some advice as almost all of the threads I've searched for online relate to the previous generation of Micra- K11. My grandmothers 2004 Micra SE has got a leak coming down into the passenger side footwell (RHD model- UK).

I've removed the scuttle panel and glovebox. This model has air conditioning but no pollen filter so can get a good view of all the internals. The leak is very small. Almost a very slow trickle when the vehicle is standing outside for periods in rain or when I soak the car with the hose (Over the course of recent wet weather however has left almost 1/2" of water in the front and rear!) Any ideas on where I can be looking because nothing is coming out as obvious- perished seals, corrosion etc. The car is in very good condition- 18,000 miles since new and does stand around a lot outside. Due to the how slow the leak is, it is almost impossible for me see where it is originating from but definitely originates from down by the A- Pillar.

Hope you can help!

Lewis

A determined detective time consuming DIY job with the help of talcum powder & clear silicone sealant, are well worth the effort @ almost zero cost?

The methods & solutions are generic common to all vehicles & not specific to the K12?

Use the search function @ top right on the MSC.

AS always do your own research to minimise unnecessary invasive dismantling work that can create faults where none previously existed.

Good luck

SOLVED. Thank you sir. The links you gave me I could not find myself on these forums even using the advanced search feature. For future reference for anybody else who comes across this thread- it was from a blocked drain point in the sunroof causing water to overflow down the inside of the A-pillar into the footwell. Compressed air from an air-line and some poking seemed to do the trick.
