Larkspeed Cams

Just came across Larkspeed offering a +12hp fast road cam on an exchange basis. Does anyone have experience of these?

Knowing how cams worked I'm surprised you can do this on an exchange basis as you need to add metal to increase lift or duration - Do they remove the lobes and put new ones on or what?

Anyway, any experience? They look a good option at £250 compared with £500 for a new set, but no idea if using the existing cams as the basis is a compromise?

another option would be autosprint ones, that use 2 x stock shims

Oh right, so they grind the cam so it's smaller, but the right profile, then the shims get you the valve-lift back?

Yes, it's a piper cam, will look at the autosprint ones too.
