K12 Fuse box under headlight

Hi can the fuse box under the passenger headlight be swapped out with another second hand part or does it need programmed to my car.The reason being is that my dip beams on both side do not work, side lights and full beams work but no dips.
If i pull the relay and put a jumper cable across the two large holes in the fuse box the lights come on,so the wiring from the box to the lamps is ok.Below is a diagram of the relay holes on the fuse box (numbers are for reference only)

3 | | 4

1 Constant 12v ignition on or off (12v to common contact on relay)
2 0v (open contact from relay to headlights) Switches when relay is powered
3 5v when light switch is on/0v when full beam is switched on and 0v when switch is off and 0v with ignition off
4 Constant 12v with ignition on or off and light switch on or off.
Would anyone even have a wiring diagram for the headlights.I was thinking of bypassing the fuse box and fitting my own fused relay.

Headlamps low beams dips failure

Reference: http4734-micra-wds-pdf.19391

With reference to PDF diagram two, item 6 (IPDM) can bus data communications with CPU and diagram 4, headlamps item 21 body control module, almost certainly not interchangeable without reprogramming and re-calibration to CPU digital datacoms.

AA) Diagram two, IPDM item 6; relay (n) low beam headlamp relay appears to be interchangeable with front fog light relay (q) as well as headlamp high beam relays (P) and (O). Interchange relays (n & q) and check operation of low/high beam?

BB) Diagram four, item 22 headlamp high/low beam multi selector switch input and output needs to be verified and confirmed received at item 21 body control module; - only if (AA) not successful.

Damage/vibration related loose and overheated burnt press on connections & dry loose cable joints into connectors and broken wires are common sources of open circuits and apparent component failure.

Failing success with any of the above a automotive electronics/electrical technician service is required to test inspect and diagnose this fault and will be quicker and cheaper than playing battleships replacing parts. Reference, car electronics specialists in your area; http://www.yell.com

NB, do not disconnect digital datacoms twisted pair cables to any of the modules at any time otherwise multiple digital can bus datacoms circuits may simultaneously fail and recalibration reprogramming may be required.

Hope this helps shed some light on this obscure subject to enable a rational fault finding DIY sequence.
Happy hunting.

I tried swapping the fuse boxes over along with all the fuses and relays, when i do this the headlights work but the car wont start, lights on dash but nothing when i turn the key. Put my old fuse box back in the car starts but no headlights.
ps: All fuse box work is done with the battery disconnected.
