K12 Dash digital/clock display.

Hi Peeps,
Just picked up one of this from bay for £10. Straight fit. Works great apart from the temperature readings.
Anyone knows where the temperature sensor is and know the part number?
Many thanks.

My Micra is 1.0 litter. 5 door. 2005 plate.

I have been told its near the bonnet catch, between the front bumper and bonnet catch. The wire is there but its hard to get the sensor.

I am guessing its standard for all the Micra's k12.. The wire is tapped to another wire behind the heater control.

You have to take the radio off the dashboard, look behind the heater control, you will see the wire tied with another wire just to keep it tidy. Just plug and play.

Let me know if you need help with removing the radio..

Thanks mate I have removed the radio many times already in search for that cable lol! I know the units are only £10-15 on ebay
LOL! Tell me about it, I've done it so many times as well. It's like timing myself to see how quick it can be done :-D

You got facelift model so I will be surprised if you don't have it. My car is 1.0 litter E.. Very basic LOL but still have the wire loom.

I dont have it.. My next option is to find a micra with the same unit somewhere and have a look where the wire goes and see if I can get the unit with the wire..

The only dangling wires that I have found are on the picture uploaded

I don't think the facelift had the digi display. If I recall correctly the 2005 on had an option of double din stereo instead, hence the missing wire. Don't hold me to that though

I can check my 53 plate 1.2 s out for you tomorrow if u need a comparison?? I love this little gadget! I NOW WANT ONE TOO! Lol! Azb u gona skint me!

Ah, just seen a potential problem. On mine, i dont have that piece of plastic that runs along the top of the unit. This is my current -

Haha :-D :-D

My advice.. Take your time doing this :p you will always get ideas from others. That's why we are here :)

I always wanted a digital display. What bothers me the most, you can buy a digital display but the extra plastic cover doesn't come with it.. I've msg every seller on eBay about the plastic cover. None has it, until I saw a guy selling whole panels.. I grabbed for bargain.

Now my biggest challenge is: How to fix or get the temperatures reading on the display. At this mo I have -----°c. Looks like I need a air temp sensor.

Here is only one guy selling the unit.. You can msg him just for the digital display and the plastic cover. You might save some money :) :)

Awsome! Thanks azb! Will contact him a little later. Get paid tomorrow! Argh! Lol

With regards to ur temp sensor. I did this add on to my old escort. I bought a seat ibiza temp sensor and live wired it too the stereo wire. Obv I didn't think it would work but it did. Hardest bit was getting the sensor to the front of car where the air don't hit it direct and the engine heat don't hit it either. Lol! Was good fun!

Guys this is my final modd for the weekend :-D :-D

Over the moon with result..

I brought the Dash Display clock, then the temp didn't work cos it doesn't come with the sensor.. So after so much eBay, net surfing etc.. I finally found the sensor from Nissan NOTE.. Guy was selling it for £13+ P&P.

Part Number: 27722 AX610

Just install the sensor. One click.. BOOM!! Job done.. Here is some pics. :) :) :)

Cheers mate :)

The system and Display clock has different ISO.. See the pic.. (big plug: 1 for DVD power n 1 for speaker. Small plug for the Display Clock).

Display clock gets the info from the ECU directly.

Because it is a after market DVD player, it doesn't communicate with the ECU - (just uses the power and speakers).

If you defo have them ISO then you should be able to add digital clock.. The facelift model has totally different ISO.

Mines a 53 plate so id imagine them being the same :) Well id hope lol
I would say, before you go ahead buying it.. Have a look and see if you defo have them ISO connection. Then go ahead buy the clock.. I defo like it being there but when I use the DVD screen.. It kinds of hide behind the screen.

Well when i popped the standard head unit out, it had a black block which went straight into the back of the Alpine. Which left 2 white blocks (both smaller) which ive had to tuck away down the back of the heater controls. Id imagine they are those bad boys lol

Ah.. You got me thinking now.. When I install my system, I used 2 big white block (guessing one for power and other for Speakers ISO) I left with on small white box connection which I now connected the clock. If you take it apart, take a pic and I should be able to compare with the ones I have.

See the msg by @aquadog90 (1st page - msg number #10. He has them small ISO connection.

I want that unit soooooo bad!

Also... Bad point of the day! Looks like she has an oil leak. Not sure where from yet, but im hoping to check that out later also.

Ah man that's a nightmare I have as well.. My car is pissing some oil too.. I don't even know where and when to start.. Most likely I will take it to the garage and get them to steam clean the underneath and have a good look. Once that sorted!! I will clean my hands and just drive. No more work on the car (Yeah right)!!

Well had another day of doing ZERO on the car. Hopefully get round to it 2moro or Thursday. Mines defo from under but from where, im not sure. (yet)

Hi mate,

I found this unit with the top cover.. Not sure of you have checked to see if the clock fits your car.. If it does then this is what you want and get it ASAP.. But make sure you email the guy 1ST and ask if the top cover still available and can he include with the clock. If he agrees then its bargain :) :)

Don't worry Leepey.. We all take the risk like that.. hehe :-D

I just hope you have the ISO to connect the clock :)

No probs at all mate :)

I used to panic when it hit the orange lights, now I can relax and see how long I have until next fill up :)

Although people have been advising me that I should fill up as soon it hit the orange mark, that way any dirty fuel at the bottom of the tank won't get into the engine. Fair point I guess!!

Lol :) nah not here yet. I'm kinda hoping for 2moro. Got my phone upgrade yesterday n finally got rid of the blackberry. Got a nice xperia m2 so I've downloaded the msc app. Seems pretty good :)

MSC app is really worth it.. I get the notifications n everything..

M2 is a cool looking phone, waterproof so nothing to worry about in rainy days :)

Still in search for Outside Air temp sensors :)
