K11 Super S from Australia

Here be my red rollerskate - post is a copy pasta from the MCM forums, with a few tweaks.

Name: Andy
Model: 1995 Nissan K11 Micra Super S
Colour: BRIGHT FKN RED
Bodykit: Factory Hatch Spoiler, Factory Super S front bar
Engine Type: CG13DE
Engine Mods: Custom intake, coughed a lot and twisted the dizzy
Power: Very little
Exhaust: Stock, hollowed out front cat, fart cannon on the rear
Gearbox: 5-speed stick with Exedy HD clutch
Diff: uwotm8?
Brakes: Standard, disc brakes at all corners with ABS
Suspension: Cloud spec
Wheels/Tyres: 15" Nissan N15 Pulsar SSS wheels (Almera GTi?), 195/55/15 tyres
Interior: Stock w/ LED lights throughout
Other Mods: Philips Xtremevision H4 globes, LED light bar, LED eye-level brake light
Stereo: Alpine CDE-147BT head unit, Pioneer TS-D1720C's in the front, Pioneer TS-D1602R's in the rear, RE Audio XT-800.4 amp for the speakers, Kenwood 12" sub, Sony Monoblock amp (sub and its amp to be changed soon)
Build Period: May 2014
Cost: $850 (400 squid) to purchase in stock form with ratty paint

She was a bit ratty and rough around the edges, but for $850 including a parts car (only an SLX), I couldn't complain!

Motor is a CG13DE with 5spd manual beside it, factory sunroof with aftermarket water leaks, full set of 3 factory 13" alloys (sans one wheel cover) and 1 steelie, and in all original condition - right down to the severely faded paint!

Work done from ownership (in no order):
  • Replaced motor/gearbox combo - old motor had 320,000km (200,000 miles) and 10mm (half inch) of crank end float
  • Fitted Exedy HD clutch kit while motor/box were out.
  • Full service, sans belts - oil + filter, plugs + leads, fuel filter.
  • Custom intake system - 90* silicone bend, cut-down intake tube from a Commodore, SCA POD filter.
  • Replaced all interior lights to LED.
  • Fitted stereo - done this twice now.
  • Fitted a fart cannon, which is not obnoxiously loud.
  • 15" N15 wheels.
  • Closed-door respray, done in conjunction with insurance/accident claim.
  • Replaced the non-functional centre brake light with an LED unit.

Work to be done:
  • Increase fuel rail pressure, said to be good for another 20hp @ wheels if done right.
  • Tint - 35% all round.
  • Replace front seats with Super S seats (have standards from a donor car).
  • Replace all suspension bushes with aftermarket stuff, yet to decide what.
  • New struts and springs at each corner, with aim to also lower the car to a legal height.
  • N14 Pulsar brake upgrade - callipers, rotors and pads - direct bolt on.
  • Strut brace
  • New exhaust; complete with air-con friendly extractors, high-flow cat, cat-back ... but keep fart cannon.

Stirling effort sir !, and good on ya for resurrecting this rare ( for Australia ) little beast you've done a great job, must say I prefer him on the smaller wheels though.
Coupla questions if I may? You mentioned that you have changed all interior bulbs to LED, dose this include those for the heater control area, some of my ( regular ) bulbs seem not to be working and I was wondering how much of a ball ache it is to access them.
Secondly, you have a number of super s wheels that you are not using, I wonder, would you possibly sell me a center cap ? ( I am in Adelaide ) .
Thanks for posting your blog mate and keep up the good work !!

The factory alloys are long gone, and all three caps had busted clips anyway. The heater controls are the only ones I haven't done yet, but they will be done eventually. Would post a few photos but I don't have any, and the car is currently without electricity.

In the process of removing the sunroof to access a large patch of rust in the roof, which will be cut out and a new section formed.

Looks really good.. but what's with the light bar up front?
Western Australia plates, might do a lot of country roads so more likely to hit roos (kangaroos) lights mean you have more of a chance of picking them up in time. Every car I've owned that does any decent amount of night driving has had a bull bar and driving lights.

Hey mate, thats ok, real shame you got rid of them though. Mine has all four wheels, but one cap is missing, the wheels are actually in really good nick. All of my remaining caps have broken clips, but ive secured them with heavy duty velcro, so i just need one more { good clips or bad dosent really matter } to complete the set. I look forward to your tutorial on heater control illumination bulb replacement haha

Makes sense :)

Hi Steve why don't you try ordering the replacement cap from a Nissan dealer, I ordered 4 new replacement center caps for my 2002 Micra alloys with no problem although I did have the part number and it was through a UK dealer! :)

Andy :D

Hi Andy
yeah i guess i could try a Ni$$an $tealership ( as a last resort ), one of the guys on the Micra oz facebook page is sending me one this week, its a bit beat up but i'll see what i can do with it. I kind of figured that with the relatively poor sales of the K11 here the dealers would be reluctant to supply parts for a twenty year old car ( and even if they did, it would be prohibitively expensive )

Nothing new at this stage - still need to rip sunroof out so I can get the rust addressed. No license means mods will be slow as I am not driving the car :)
