Just a little update, whilst I am still waiting on payday to pay for my insurance deposit I decided to de-badge my car finally!

20140511_202301_zps34ecdc41.jpg

When I was insured I must of scraped her, one road which has more pot holes than anything probably caused it that I go through on a regular basis :(

20140511_202311_zpsb4978402.jpg

Is it me or does the bumper look like its not fit on snug??

20140511_202319_zps08b1a87d.jpg

Next steps would be to take the side strips off, re-spray bumper and also to de-wiper the rear of my car when I have some time of work and exams!

Watch this space! :D

Mines a bit weird, does fit properly on one side under the wing. Take it off and remount it if it bothers you :)

The plastic bumper corner bits pop off so they can be sprayed easily btw

Oooo that looks nice :D will look really good when you de wiper him :)
My bumper sits like that too :) think it's normal :L
De bump striping will give him that nice 'clean' look :) xx

Rubbing petrol on the gummy stuff left behind works :) if you pull of the strips and soak kitchen paper in Petrol and stick them to the goo go have a coffee while the soak in and then it practically rubs off :) no indent left behind atall :) xx

If you want to get those grey plastics looking brand new again, get yourself a heatgun, hold it about 30-40mm away and watch the magic happen... then use it like you're painting, staying clear of paint and mudflaps (as these melt)...you can pop out those corner pieces and heatgun them away from the car...works an absolute treat...

Smooth Peanut butter works nicely just Not a long time fix... Could work till you can crack a heat gun out :) dint use veg oil... I melted my bumper :L xx

I wouldn't bother using a heat gun. You get a good result at first but it fades again not long after. The heat draws out the moisture and makes the plastic brittle over time (that's how they fade in the first place - exposure to the sun and all that). Best bet is to use something like peanut butter, as the oils it contains will moisturise the plastics and keep them blacker for longer.

Might consider the peanut butter idea but wouldn't it smell I hate peanut butter haha :I

UPDATE:

Decided to start doing little bits whilst I had no paper :(

De-wipered, still rapidly trying to find something to go behind the hole when smoothing it... any ideas??

Took the number plate of and found that some donut had done a dodgy filler job! God knows why though :s

Anybody got any K10 numberplate lights or even better march ???

Cheers

You could weld a patch of metal in and grind it back.

Or you could use a strong adhesive to patch it from the back, then use fibreglass or filler to smooth it over.

On mine all I did was put a scrap of sandpaper behind it then fillered, not the most elegabt but it work and it was the nearest thing to grab while the filler was setting lol

Welding is a oh no for me haha. Would a piece of thin wood superglued on back work and fillered over??

Get a welder to patch it, then grind it back yourself would be the best for the long term.... But filling with maybe fibreglass sheet on the inside if the hole might work?

It's not structural or anything, so that should be OK. Once the filler hardens it should be strong enough, but slamming the boot constantly may cause it to crack over time. That will depend on how good your filler work is though.

I personally don't think that would last all that long :-( could be wrong but I wouldn't as you may be redoing it again in a month :-( xxx

UPDATE: just using car recently and when in first and second it seems to lag?? When I let of the accelerator off and pump it again it seems to gain power? it is really fustrating and don't know what issue could be??

Also my back end keeps sliding out in wet so ideally may need a bit better tyres, all LEGAL though fyi!

Just took of one side strip, bad idea!! Need that toffee wheel more than ever now! Waiting on that drill part and good to go :)

Pics soon!!

You can call me a **** btw but what is the maf?? I feel like my fuel goes in blocks I don't know if that's normal sometimes I put in a fiver and it doesn't even move haha!

Mass air flow meter, underneath your air intake box. There's a black plug, disconnect it and see if it's still running odd

Is it bad for the engine to have it unplugged till I have money for a new sensor? It is just like 5 mph with the sensor on! :(

compared to what it was, it pulls like nothing! and do you know where besr place is to get a sensor? even if anybody got a used one.

UPDATE: Exhaust now not rattling, new centre and back exhaust fitted!

good work, isnt hard to do a march boot conversion but its sourcing the jdm spec boot lights which is a pain. I did mine with k10 lights until i managed to source some k11 jap ones.

its expensive to "jdm" a car mate though, may as well buy a whole march they come up for sale loads on gumtree anywhere from £200 to £800. I got my old march g# for £150

for real you got march mas ?
Had haha, bought a march g# really cheap was an average shell, omp rollcage, stripped out, bucket seats, harnesses was going to ga16 conversion or turbo but I realized k11s really are not for my so I sold up to spend more money on my k10.

we all know that episodemate :) first thing on k11 is get the same looking front square look as k10 lights and all
