K11 fuel pump

Question on fuel pump 'starting up' for 1.4 owners;

On my 1.0 K11's, every time I turn the ignition on, pre start, I hear the fuel pump priming, whereas on my recently acquired 1.4 I get ... silence.

Normal?

Post 2000 or coil packs don't prime like the older models
