K11 coolant flush change.

I got a new brand new Rad to fit, as my rad is leaking.

The coolant is a brown rusty colour needs to be flushed. I don't need to flush the rad as it's new. Though how do I flush the engine block out

Is it a case of sticking a garden hose into the upper rad hose pipe to the thermostat housing and flush from there with the bottom rad pipe off?

Remove thermostat, fit hollow housing back on, open heater dial full hot, flush garden hose through the top hose till the water drains out the bottom hose clear.
