K11 1996 wont start

It's a 1.0 litre 16v.

It has always started first time every time. Apart from once about 3 months ago, it turned over but just wouldn't fire into life, where I checked everything over (fuel and spark both present) and finally it ran and has been fine since.

A couple of days ago it did the same and now won't start at all

I have tried (or rather sister has!) tried a new dizzy cap and rotor arm to no avail.

I'm now thinking coil (unlikely)

Crank pickup

Or ECU

Are any of these common?

Also is it a chipped key/ ECU. The Key doesn't look chipped.

yes mate, the prefacelifts were prone to flooding (nissan used to do a resistor retrofit loom to cure it) i run 2 parallel coolant temp sensors for the same effect

and try a google of, micra.org coolant temp sensor (i never bother with our poxy search function fwn)

Pulled the fuse out, foot to the floor (well hand!)

and it fired into life, then died

Put the fuse back in and it fired up first time

your a star!

I will check out your mod when I get 2 mins

mine has a 2nd coolant sensor under the dash, and when switched on (wired in parallel) the coldstart enrichment only lasts for 1 min/half a mile even during mid winter .
with it switched off the enrichment lasts for 2 + miles , so it can have a marked effect on mpg if you do a lot of short runs
