Just saying Hi

Hi to all, just joined. Looking around probably one of the oldest but hey ho.

I run a K12 1.2 SE for my job as a driving instructor. Wasn't going to buy it due to preferring the shape of the K11, nearly bought a very late one of those.

But after testing one for a weekend I was hooked on how easy it was to drive. All my pupils love it even the lads as it's so easy to get on with and see out the back of!

I picked it up with 5k miles on last July it now stands with 79k and all that's been done are three oil changes, front brake pads, one suspension top mount plus a thermostat otherwise it runs 40 hours a week returning about 45mpg. Show me another car that would do that!

As for the tyres it had the odd ball 15 inch 175 sizes ( which I have in the yard) These were replaced with the 14 inch steels and cheaper tyre sizes. Used to be about £90 a tyre now £20!

I also run an old seven 3.8 Alpina with a lot of horsepower but 16mpg definataly the weekend car!

Looking to pick up a few tips as I tend to do all my own repairs to save money.

First posts will be about drive belt, steering wheel replacement ( worn leather) and possibly clutch replacement.

Anyway cheers for now.

Rich
