Just how hard is it to replace the heater matrix in a K11?

Hello everyone, a friend mine has a 1995 K11, and the heating has gone all bandy. The fan controller only works on one setting, and no warm air comes into the cabin, at all. When the blower's turned on, all he gets is a steamed-up front screen!

Just how hard is it to replace the heater matrix and fan controller switch?

Many thanks in advance :)

Matrix should be fine I'd do a coolant change before pulling the dash out...
It's just the resistor card that needs swapping out... passenger footwell up top 2 screws and unplug it it will fall out.

Thanks for the replies. My mate's telling me he gets no heat in the cabin at all. Could the filter cause this? Cheers :)

akes six bolts to get to this and is maybe half an hours job. Hardest part would be removing the steering wheel if you don't have a puller ( but they are cheap, and useful )

i wouldnt be fingering anything at the minute without checking head gasket first :)
