JAE 2016 - Discussion Thread!

James

Chairman
The MSCs flagship show is back for another year and promises to be bigger and better than ever!

Thursday 8th September to Sunday 11th September.
JAE is now at Newark Showground. Newark Showground is just off the A1 in Newark (amazingly)

New and changed for 2016!
Gate changes

The main entrance last year will be closed. The new entrance is the "blue gate" which is where the closest toilets were last year. This avoids queuing out into the road, you'll drive in, park in a massive car park, get your tickets or wristbands and then drive through the gate into the actual show.

Hanshin is no more
The Hanshin plots (where we were last year) have been re-purposed and removed. The aim is to cost less and group everyone together to be a little friendlier and closer. We're now in Daikoku 14,15,16 (map below).

Funfair
There's going to be a funfair on the hard standing where caravans were last year. Just behind us on Daikoku.

Drift Cars gone
Unfortunately no drift cars this year as they ripped up the runway last year and annoyed the Showground. Replacement TBC but could be something along the lines of auto trials, consistency trials etc.

Evening Entertainment
Details are a little sketchy at the moment, but there could be a drive-in movie, maybe Fast & Furious or something along those lines

Show & Shine
This will now be hosted in a massive aircraft hangar:

ICE Competitions
For the first time I can remember, a few competitions for you guys who love your In-Car Entertainment, details to follow

Plus all the usual stuff
  • 60 acres of grassland
  • Five-a-side football
  • Tug of War
  • It’s a knockout competition
  • Eating competition
  • Band
  • Disco

The General Public (Not on the stand)
Non Japanese cars must park in the public car park, but for 2016 JAE have allowed all Japanese cars to park in a new area, next to the quiet camping area inside the show!
If you purchase a day pass, you must leave site by dusk. If you do not, JAE will clamp your car until payment for a weekend ticket is made (£35)

Is it covered in primer? That's kind of what we mean by WIP :)
