car half done :)
well coming up to my first year of insurance, and started to look for some insurance companyies which are cheap i have tried alot of companies with two different types of cars, they are:

nissan micra sr 16v 1.3 1997

nissan micra celebration 16v 1.0 2000

and still i am getting ridiculous prices from the insurance companies like 4,5,6 grand :O
i think this is ****ing dreadful, how do you they expect me to pay that i am a student.

in the insurance quotes i haver added my mam and dad and the additional drivers and still the same amount. :/

anyone know any good insurance companies which are good for 19 year olds ?

Phone them up, dont use the comparison websites, i also found aviva to be the best, beat every other quote by about 700 quid !

I was using Lancaster for my daily 1.3 GX who happened to be the cheapest by about £100 for Business cover. However, they will get the can as they will not insure my wife due to her not meeting their >3year requirement on driving license.

I insure the SuperS through a specialist insurer due to the nature and use of the car and I actually pay less on the modified SuperS than I do on the standard 1.3 GX.

Being 21 I spent a fair few hours looking for insurance over the years.

Admiral has been the cheapest by far for me.
I pay in one lump on a 0% credit card, saves me a fortune on interest.

Direct line have been the cheapest for me in the past, although im struggling to grasp the mentality of most insurers!

Passed when i was 16, have 8 years no claims:

1.3Si Micra competition car all modifications included (so long as theres no forced induction) insured to a value im comfortable i could build the car again. £400
1.9 Deisel Fiat van with about 20bhp i was getting quotes of £800+ insured for a vehicle value of £2k!! On a maximum of 3,000 miles a year!!

My 1.3 GX was £295 but that will go up when switching to a mainline insurer as I have to insure my wife who is learning to drive. I expect it will be up around the £500 mark

SuperS costs £245 on a limited mileage policy. Compared to around £600 via my previous insurer, (who I will decline to mention), it pretty much rules out any of the usual insurance suspects. Which, for a car that I barely do 1500miles a year in is simply ludicrous. The real kicker is it's the same cover through the same underwriter....

I hope you didn't put that you're a student when trying to buy insurance, that's a killer.

really, whst should i put ?
Yeah. It really puts the price up apparently. You're a little stuck really, considering it'll hurt to put nothing, and it'll hurt to put student.
Even part time work in a shop, or something, would be a lot better.

Almost as dreadful as taking someones money for something and then not sending it and completely ignoring countless messages from them and admin and not even having the balls to send them an apology.

Thats truly dreadful.
