injector testing

as you may know my car is up and running again =] but i need to test its current injectors to ensure they are giving the same rates the info i have gathered tells me to do this

remove rail
position injectors into 4 individual containers (preferably the same)
keep into place gaffa tape
disable spark at dizzy
foot full on throttle
turn key for 10-15 seconds
then make the that all the sameish level in the container
using same container would aid in this

thanks in adv\nce

well ill have to keep the spark then lol

if i find there iffy ill test the other rail in the same way and use a decent set of injectors

i think i would just bin that suspect injector personally will, that valve had suffered lean conditions imo

Sounds like you are planning some sort of ASNU type testing rig.

The ECU will cut off after 5 seconds without a crank signal.

Without the proper test bench you are basically testing the petrol fuel injectors the same way you would do a leak off test on a modern diesel engine.

It would be far easier and safer just to send them to a specialist and pay for half an hour of their time.

If you have a decent fault code reader/Consult emulator you could do the power balance test and monitor the CO reading, if there are wild differences you may have a dodgy injector.
Alternatively, if you have a diagnostic computer you could scope the injector pulses. On our Snap on machine you can plot all 4 at the same time so its easier to see if there are any differences.

Or you could just buy a handful down the breakers and mix and match!(Y)
