ignition barrel renewal

Hi, Help ive just replaced an ignition barrel on my micra it has 2 new keys it will not start even with the original keys with the chip next to it, when trying to start the engine management light is on

Is the engine light solid on or flashing? And did you replace the ring around the barrel?

The engine light is flashing,its the same ring around the barrel

That’s a nats error. are the new keys programmed to the ecu?

If not do they have a chip? If so swap the old chip into a new key. If nats detects a wrong chip Or no chip it will flash the check engine light.

Thanks Maarten no the new keys do not have a chip i just put the old key with the chip in next to the barrel hoping that it detects the chip.
