How to take off a Nissan Micra k11 gear knob?

Does anyone know how to take it off? I tried but it doesn't want to budge

You need to man up and twist it off ;-). It's sometimes difficult to crack the glue seal. You could try heating the knob/stick to soften the glue, or you could just cut it in half if you know you wan to replace it.

haha ill have a go when I get back from work. have you changed your nob?

no, but I have taken it off to lift the gaiter and centre trim over the gearstick.

try lock fingers together . wrap both hands round it and have good try anticlock

Give it everything but it was glued on tight! Gave it a bit of heat and it came off no problems

Hahaha!! What the hell! Mine was just a simple screw type thing underneath

I know! If the corners weren't so sharp I'd be inclined to leave it like that, because trying to undo it is rather...... dodgy (It's tighter than an MP claiming expenses!).

Have u tried taking that off with pliers?

No: I tried a 20mm socket, though. I decided a twisted gear linkage would be detrimental to smooth shifting so I gave up... :/
