how similar are facelifts to pre-facelifts under the skin?...

So we now have a lovely pre-facelift (see signature) and are currently looking for a good two door shell to plonk all the nice stuff into. Most 2 door k11s in NZ are facelift nowadays.
So how close are they mechanically. for the right shell in good condition with a nice colour we like we are prepared to strip the cars right back, looms included, to swap stuff over. I know we will have to do some bodywork alterations at the front for the light panels- swapping bits over, spot welds etc.

However- will we find out that differences in the following..

-suspension pickup points
-heater inlet and outlet pipework locations
-dash mounting brackets that are fixed in place (we want the full pre-facelift dash assembly because ours is black- which I have not seen before!

Has anyone on here swapped all the stuff from a pre-facelift car into a facelift shell?

We have found a nice facelift in yellow selling locally- probably our favourite colour choice...

I am no expert on k11 chassis but the cosmetic parts you can transfer and for the heater pipe inlet, I can't think of a reason why to change that. It's shell is basically and almost or 100% same. I don't expect dash mount problems you can not solve maybe none. It won't hurt tearing it up already it will be a walk in the park after lmp restoring and maybe someone can chime in. I want to note I have EUDM k11 so not aware of NZ

Ah there is one electrical and maybe more differences (electrical), the pre-facelift has no ECU immobilizer and the facelift has, that might be something but others can explain that
 
I have an idea that non of the JDM marches have an immobiliser - certainly the two facelifts we have looked at, inc the one we have now agreed on buying, have one fitted. I'm with chopping and changing the electrical stuff . I had a good look over the FL car we are now getting and compared it to the PFL- it all looks the same in the bay and underneath :)

 
Well someone has a wiring issue but you keep engine loom with engine? And how is it going, I suspected you should be really far by now if time allows you :) It's bolt on
 
hiya. We've not started on the swaps and probably wont until after xmas. Really busy building a mezzanine floor above the workshop and getting our housetruck ready to go to its new home end on nov. Once that has left we can relax and look forward to playing with Micras :)

I like those lower lights in the pre face-lift bumper!
I didn't think, that was possible in the PFL models?!
