help please, no spark!

hi i am new to here parked my car one evening came out 3 hours later car turning over but no ignition, i towed it home, as i had had some cold start distributor cap problems i removed this andchanged as the cap pins and rotor arm were very worn, once refitted, still no spark, took fuel line off filter and turned over and have fuel but no spark, would this be a new distributor unit as mine i believe has the coil inside, i have checked what fuses i can but still no spark, one minute running few hours klater not, money is tight sio i would be sourcing a spare from a breakers and fitting but before i do this any help would be gratefully accepted, anything else i should check,?? any relays etc, checked earths and these seem to be ok, disconnected wiring connectors, spryed with dispersant but still no spark, any help greatly appreciated

there are a few threads showing where to probe the dizzy wires for a feed and signal, and the fsm download has loads of info too
