help needed with gearbox please

this is my first post so bare with me lol
ok i have a autograss micra 1.0ltr and am wanting to build a better gearbox which doesnt die in second gear, so far i run a normal box 1.0ltr with 1st and 2nd and reverse
does well off the line but dies in second really i want to know all final drive ratios inc how many teeth on each cog
then best 1st and 2nd gear to use
i work in a scrap yard so im not limited to just one box so any help here would be great

little bit about my car its a 1.0ltr with bike carbs running with solid buckets and two made up kent cams now i want to be able to rev it to 8000-8500 like all the other cars do
at the moment i can do this in 1st but not 2nd :suspect:

it,ll be the RS5F41 g/box then mate (akin to the k10 ones) 1st is 3.412 and 2nd is 1.958.
haynes lists the k10 ratio,s as the same, but with different diff ratio,s.
the bigger facelift 1.0 and 1.3 box (RS5F30) has very similar ratio,s too fwn
