HELP NEEDED: fuel tank breather hose

right, when i open the petrol cap i get a hiss noise as tho the fuel tank is sucking in air. this only happens once till after i've been driving for a bit then it'll do it again.

i've been told that the fuel tank breather hose could be blocked and that when i open the petrol cap the tank sucks in air to compensate and that this could potentially result in loss of power due underfueling.

anybody else had this probem or know how to check if the hose is blocked.

cheers in advance for any help guys & gals, graeme :(

My car does this to, but only when i've been driving for a wee while. (Well when engine is heated up). Don't think that its a major problem mate, but would like to know what it is really...

It should do it afaik..........the K11's run a pressurised fuel system, therefore a vacuum is required for this to take place.

By opening up the fuel cap you release this pressure.

Mine does this, I thought this thread was going to be to do with not being able to get a full tank due to the design of the breather, obviously not :(
