Help Fitting New Radio!

Hi Guys,

I recently got a cheap Sony CDX GT111 from a mate who pulled it out of his car thats being scrapped.

I'm looking to fit it into my Micra, but when I pulled the Micra unit out today (should have done more reading before diving in), I noticed that the Sony unit has this socket

Whereas my standard Micra unit has this, with all the extra plugs hanging about

does anybody know what adapter i need?

as a sidenote, the sony unit looks ever so slightly smaller than the Micra unit, but the Sony unit is a standard single din. Is the Micra stereo a standard single din?

Thanks Guys!

Looks like the right one. The top 3 coloured plugs I can't help with. But as long as you have the bottom two it'll work fine

When you get an aftermarket radio it'll come with its own mini wiring loom which plugs into another mini loom (the iso) which attaches to the plugs in the back of the original stereo.

I know it's a long ass way of doing it but that's the simplest way

right, from what i gather you need:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PC2-13-4-...8?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item25725f4d8c to convert your Micra harness to the ISO standard plugs

then you need:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sony-CD-P...8?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item1c33fa695e by the look fo the plug this is what goes into your Head Unit.

the brown wire is an earth, sand back some BARE METAL and drill a small hole and fix it in firmly, so it makes a good contact.

On my yaris, we had to swap the whole lowe half of the dash, but it appears for the micra, all you need is this:

use abraisive sand paper to slowly trim it to size, then a fine grade to smooth it, give it a lick of paint or a sticker bomb and away you go.

I've ordered a connects2 ( xcarlink is same thing) iPod/aux adapter to plug in the cd changer port on the back of the standard CD player in my k12 micra. I'm confused as to how to ground it though as here are the installation guidelines...
Any help greatly appreciated as it should arrive tomorrow and wanna get it up and running !!!

Instructions:

The interface connects to the CD changer port located on the back of your car stereo. On some cars, this can be reached from the passenger side whilst on others, you will need to remove the radio. Instructions how to remove your radio to access the CD changer port can be found through many online resources, car manuals or by a local installer. This interface requires one wire to be connected to 12v permanent and another to 12v ignition.

You should see a brown wire, get some sandpaper and give it a sand and affix it on with the OE ground
