Help! Disconnected battery and car won't start!!!

I disconnected the -ve terminal for a few minutes on My 54 micra and after connecting it back, the car won't start. The dash lights all work, radio works fine but it doesn't turn over. The key light is illuminated constantly. Is there anything I can do? We live in west Yorkshire and are miles away from the nearest garage!!

dont you have to turn the key on for 5 secs then off for 5 secs x 3 or something ?

Just trying this again now, have read the fault codes and am getting p1610 and p1611. Going to disconnect the battery again and give it another try.

Got it, disconnected the battery for about 5 minutes and tried again, worked first time

Just done exactly the same, car battery good. everything works, tried both keys, total silence. Ive got a cheap ODBII, got the same codes. Ionly took the battery off to touch +- together and clear ABS light. (which I don't think has worked either.

Thanks for finding this, I have taken the battery off for 30 mins, and on re connection, it worked fine.
