Good evening, my daughter came up tonight for me to fit a bulb as it wasn't working, i changed the bulb then realised that the sidelight wasn't working too, the passenger side is working fine (sidelight and headlight) the mainbeam flash works ok though, any ideas would be helpful

Well as the power feeds are different for the two bulbs, the one thing that they almost certainly share is the earth feed, would start checking there.......
Other than that, the switch assembly on the steering column would be the next suspect, but eliminate the simple possibility first.

my light cables almost Burnt my micra down. a headlight plug was corroded and heated up till the cable melted and started to burn.
you probably want to check that, too
