Handle-less doors

Has anybody removed the door handles for a smooth finish?

Looking to remove the rear door handles and was wondering if anybody here has had that done on their micra.

You need to be able to open the doors from the outside for the MOT so you'd need to hide a switch somewhere.

People do their front doors and put a door popper switch under the wing mirror

Shaved doors are so chavtastic though so dunno why you'd wanna, it won't make your micra faster or aerodynamic

it is a lot of work for so little in my opinion but it does suit some cars ie. big fast ones lol

It is possible to get a car through the MOT by presenting it for its test with the windows wound down, so that the interior leaver can be used to open the doors. Cars must be tested in the condition that they are presented. An external switch can be a convenience but one from the emergency services is going to fanny around looking for a hidden switch, they will just put the window through.

I think it can look excellent, that orange car I posted the other day looked ace, OK I'd treat the front end differently but the rest of the body looked good smoothed. I think where it doesn't work is when combined with a load of stick on tat, spoilers body kits etc, as if shaved handles is another thing to add to the bragging list of mods, rather than carry it out because it works with the theme of the car.

Google is your friend, you'll find all sorts of different blog entries and guides that you can use to adapt to have a go. I seem to remember someone mentioning in the past that Mk5 escort central locking solenoids can be used as actuators but dont quote me on that.

Completely weld them shut, lose as the seams etc so the whole side looks like a continuous piece of metal, then have the electric windows on a remote so you can dukes of hazzard it to get in

No you must be able to open DOORS from the outside, if there's no doors then no need to open

i wouldnt do it to the rears without any means of opening it, what happens if either by accident or 1 of your mates messing aroud turns the child lock on, you would never get them open, lol
