Hi all,

Need to change the front pads on the K12 1.0E
Does anyone have any guides to do this? Also checked the discs and got a bit of a rim on the outside, so replace them too?
Will I need any special tools? i.e. Wind back tool? etc
Do I need a fitting kit?

Only has 40k on the clock, is this around the right mileage to have to change them?

Thanks

Cheers

Yes would be grateful for a little help, just so I know I won't hit any problems and any special tools I need before starting. Its my partners car, so can't afford it to be off road while I have to source parts/tools.

Hi Wrenchable,

Only changed discs once on my VW Passat, anything to know about changing them on the Micra K12?

No reason why there be any different, may need to bash the disc off with a hammer then clean up the surface of the hub so its flat. Apply some copper slip to the hub the reassemble in reverse order.

Not too sure on the bolt sizes holding the calliper and cradle to the hub, just check you have the correct sizes before you disassemble.

Thanks for all your replies.

Brakes were changed before xmas, but one little issue....
sometimes at low speeds when braking, they will start squealing. At times though they are fine.

Any advised?

Thanks
