Grinding noise when turning right

Hi,

I have a problem with my Micra (since we got it really, 1 year ago). When turning right, no matter the gear - except reverse! - I hear this ugly grinding noise coming from the left side.

People suggested CV joint problems, but the noise should be a "clack clack", not a grinding one from what I read.

We're ruled out the wheel bearing, CV boots look intact as well.

Any other ideas?

Do you have inner plastic fenders or how ever you call them. One of contacting hardware might be missing or loose. This is causing rubbing on reverse. Please check this...

Thanks Mika, but the problem does not manifest when in reverse.

Im the meantime I got the car looked at by a garage and they say the diff in the gear box might be what's causing this.

Repairing it will likely cost too much to be worth it for such an old car (03).

Ive had a grinding noise turn left at slow speeds , turned out it was one of the front brake pads worn to the steel. Changed myself noise gone.
