Grease in driveshaft joint?

While I was removing the engine today - minus gearbox, not something I'd do again, what a ballache - I managed to pop out the inner driveshaft joint. Popped it back in when the engine was finally out, but noticed that some of the grease from inside it had dripped out. It doesn't seem at all like regular drivehshaft type grease, it's much less viscous, almost more like oil than grease. Is there a special kind used by Nissan? Don't want to go putting some moly or general purpose stuff back in there if it's going to mess things up ...

Yeah. It's the inner CV joint, not the gearbox itself. Gearbox oil has a very particular smell, so it's not that. It's just a much thinner grease than I've come across before.
