what diameter would be auitable for what BHP ???

ie i heard 2.5" systems are good for mr2s to 300 BHP (or 350 BHP)



what are the likes of standard micras/primeras etc.
and aftermarket like janspeed etc?

i am not very knowlegeable about these but i would say if you are going for an aftermarket exhaust, 2-3 inch would be best.

in between this size it would look good, wont lose backbox pressure and certainly dont look too fat for a micra/primera.

so what car are you trying to stick your new exhaust on anyway? and what bhp your car got?

2.5" is massive. IIRC the internal diameter of the janspeed manifold is only 1 and a quarter.

There's no point in making the primaries though larger than the size of the exhaust ports on the head

2 inch is fine for upto 150-200 at a push bhp.

the universal backboxes are usually 2.5"

ed , or any1 else, what will the difference in noise be with thicker diameter i want a deep, non raspey noise from a straight through exhaust if possible, in theory what would produce this ? thiner or thicker ? .... will 2.5" lose me anything ?

i will be turbo'in next year so ideally dont want to re-do it then.

shouldnt see more than 150-200 so think 2" will do, depending on is sound is affectied
