Gearbox trouble -advice please

Hi guys, so recently my gearbox has started making a metallic grinding sound, the problem only persisted in 5th gear when the engine was under load, but a few weeks have paused and the problem is more noticeable, now in other gears and the grinding is much louder than before, and now it don't seem to make a differance if the engine is under load or not, also on the down change it seems to be harder to put in to gear, especially from 3rd - 1st.

If anyone has had a similar problem let me know and did you manage to get it fixed?

If not has anyone got any ideas of what the cause could be? Because I'm not to fond of my gearbox being repurposed as a musical instrument, it's getting quite annoying.

have you checked the oil level ?

It's recently had an mot of which I believe all fluids were changed

Will have a check anyways, do you know how to as I've read about topping it up from the drive gear or something along those lines but apparently it's a pain to get to

if your is a facelift ? then there is a level plug on the front of the g/box

square drive on 1st facelift, and hex on 2nd facelift
