gearbox oil

hey everybody ive just changed the gearbox oil in my micra to what was stated on an auto data cd my friend use's at his garage as my micra just hit 100k miles (2004 1.2) but since changing its hard to get into gear until the engine has been run for 15 mins ive checked on line to make sure the oil i put in was the right kind and it was but just a diffrent brand any idea's would be helpful
