Gearbox innards transplant ??

Well here's the question
Can the innards of a 1 litre box be transplanted into the casing of a 1.3 box ??????? Reason being we've cracked the 1 litre housing and haven't got another to use only a 1.3 available. Any thoughts welcome cheers

I believe so, there was a topic on getting a closer ratio gearbox by using the 1 litre ratios inside a 1.3 box or something similar.

according to nissan4u.com it depends on the year.

the preface 1992-1997 had separate 1L casing and 1.3 casings.

the early facelifts 1998-2000 shared the same 1L & 1.3 box

the later 2000+ facelifts share the same 1L & 1.4 box

I had a problem with the casings when trying ro fit a cg13 gearbox to my cg13 engine. The engine is pre 96 auto and the gearbox i have on there is a 97 cg10 which fits fine. It was the 2 support arms and the sandwich plate that wouldnt line up
