just traveled from Scotland to england in our little 1.0 k12, we managed to get to Macclesfield before the car started loosing power and cutting out, after which we waited and managed to get another few miles before cutting out again.
AA guy came and we both noticed the fuel pump humming under the back seat, he put 5 litres of petrol(we still had 1/4 tank before hand) in and we were lucky enough to make it to our destination. the next day i proceeded to evaulate the problem,
drove about until the fuel level went back down and the car again began to cut out even at idle it will eventually cut out. the pump in the back was making a hell of a hum. pulled out the pump and cleaned it up( filter was pretty damn dirty) and reinstalled it, it was silent when i turned the engine on and thought that was it but after driving for 5 miles the pump began to hum again.
now its Friday and ive got to get back to Scotland on Sunday and im struggling to get a replacement fuel pump until Monday.
Anybody have any ideas to what i could check or try and check.
