Hi there, I'm new to the forum, although certainly not new to Micras - between 3 generations of my family we have owned 6 of them, all the way from the K10 to the K12.
Anyhow - back to my question. Has anyone used a garage in the Cardiff area to replace a K11 front crossmember? Would you recommend them, and if you don't mind me asking, what did it cost?
My wife's 1996 K11 is approaching MOT time, so I have given it a service and a general check over. Despite several applications of underseal over the years, the front crossmember has finally been holed by corrosion. Although there seems to be a variety of opinions on the net about whether crossmember corrosion is an advisory or fail item, it is something I would want to have repaired. We intend to keep the car for as long as possible - apart from the rust nothing has gone wrong with it in 5 years!
