For Sale 1991 Micra 1.2 GS Canvas Top 2 owner 36,500 miles with lots of history.
Reluctantly for sale is my wifes K10 Canvas Top, we've owned since July this year and we are selling due to its too nice for our needs and really needs to be cherished by an enthusaist. We love this little car and it was fab in the summer. It has lots of history and many Mot's to show the mileage is correct. I can e.mail over more detail history and mots mileages to you if you wish too much to list here. I've taken some pictures, but the flash makes the paintwork look odd, it is all one colour! I took some better ones with my own camera but its decieded to go wrong and I cant get the off! It drives perfect, the only thing it will need a small amout of welding for the Mot which is due on the 6th December. I'm selling it as it is so you can get the welding done to your own standard, if I hav'nt sold by the 6th then I will get the welding done to an Mot standard a re-list with a price reflecting the work done. The body is very very tidy with exception of the nsr wheel arch that has some scabs. Everything works including the electric canvas roof which is fine with no leaks. The carpets look like two years old not twenty! The only other thats showing its age is the plastic trim around the parcel shelf, which is with car. Even has the original radio too. With a very small amout of TLC this is a showwinner. How many genuine low mileage canvas tops come up for sale?
How Much? As it is without me getting the welding done Im looking for at least £800.00 You can drive it away as it is taxed too till Feb (at least I think)
After i have the welding, depends on how much I have to pay some one to it!
I live near Kings Langley, Herts. 10Mins from M25 Jnc 20.
Any Questions email me.
Best to email if your interested and I'll call you back [email protected] My Mobile is 07771 637512 No Late calls please, we have a 11mth old baby!
Regards Robin.
(think i may of posted in wrong section before)

Just looked at the pics on here myself and it doesn't look as good as it is, the pics I took on my camera I had leathered it off and it looked stuning, I will shake, rattle and bang my camera to try and get it to work and try and post them too. Also its a 5 speed if that makes any difference to anyone.

Spoke to bodyshop today, have advised the welding to do properly not just Mot standard is a days work, so im thinking about doing it and keeping her, if anyone has any interest let me know soon I would consider a lower price, but you need to be quick as I think I'll get work done soon and keep her, she's sooo nice.

Robin, with respect, you may struggle to get £800 for a '91 which needs welding even one in superb condition otherwise.

To be honest about this car I've only listed because I think it needs to cherished, thats why I offered it for sale without the welding done. I am quite happy to get the welding done to an Mot standard and keep useing it, I think someone who wants super low mileage, rare? Canvas Top would get the work done to a higher standard and be able to show and enjoy a fab car. If someone comes up a px deal I may be interested but would need to be something power steering, so a later model with low miles might do it! (WIFES CAR) But I'm not looking to part with any cash, i have my daughters 1st b.day soon and then mine then crimbo. Thing is my wife and I love this little car and I remember them when they were new and im not in a hurry to sell it. Prob wrong time anyway wait till march and there may be lot more interest. Would like to hear more feed back from other members on what they think?

If it needs welding Bill then you would be looking more around the 400 - 500 range because the welding can easily cost upto 200 taking into account any painting or undersealing that would also be required to finish the job. Yes they are rare; 44 on the road & 18 SORN, but they are still a micra and don't have the same following or demand as say the VWs and Fords of the same era. £800 is the absolute maximum price one of these suntops could pull and only if it is mint with a full years mot and tax. By mint i mean perfect, no bubbles, no welding needed and nothing in need of repair or replacement.
Remember that your model is a GS midrange model, a GSX, SLX or particularly a Super S suntop would pull top dollar more easily. I would reccomend getting the work done and driving it till the end of spring then advertising it at the wake of summer when suntops/convertibles are in season. (Y)

Thanks Porkpie, You seem to know your stuff, so if anyone is interested at £500.00 I will let her go, you wont be dissapointed shes a great little car.

Told the wife I'd let it go for £500.00 and she's not a happy bunny! Big Opps! But I will stand by my post and if anyone is interested then Ok. Thats lowest im willing to go and like Porkpie said and was my feeling too I'll get the welding done and use, enjoy and maybe think selling her in the spring. Thanks for all the feedback guys.

I have the pics from my camera now, i have sent these to Charlee above, and have attached here so everyone can see how nice she really is. I know I keep saying shes nice but look! (Bumpers are back to black as they have faded, she is 20 years old and I had grey hair when I was 20!) Gona try upload some more pics!

More pics, these were taken end of Nov 2011. Mot now expired. Been told she needs a days work of welding to do properly, may just scrape through, but I would never garantee it, needs welding to rear part of both sills areas.

Sorry to say but this is not worth the asking price! I'm not ruining your sale mate if I am apologies but to be realistic this is way over priced !!
I've had many k10 micra's and I wouldn't pay £800 for one unless its a super s lol
Sorry but its just my opinion hey!
GLWTS

I will second the above, best keeping it if you can't settle for less.

Think about it £800 for a rusty gs, canvas top is rare yes problem is there are about 3 people who would part cash for one. Everyone else has the cost of repairing the roof at sometime.

I did part more than that for a mint superturbo shell and boxes of parts but no rust and no cancer.

Repair it, maintain and enjoy it.
