First post - another OBD thread; what do I need?

Hi, I'm new on this forum, it came up in a google search for my problem.

I've just bought a Nissan Micra (reg P742 DOP)

When I take off from stationary it jerks/lurches forward a little bit and then it's totally fine until I slow down again, when it jerks forward.

My suspicion is that it's to do with entering the first or second gear, and possible something to do with transmission fluid.

I'd like to buy an OBD and searching through the forum apparently this model of K11 is OBD1. I can't find and OBD1 adapters anywhere but I've seen converters for OBD1 to OBD2. However I've also seen on this forum that my model may be Nissan Consult only.
An OBD2 adapter I was looking at also specified it didn't work with Nissan so I'm not sure what I need to buy

Thanks

Hi

look at this

http://www.buyobd.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=28

I bought this bluetooth obd1 cost me 21.66 took about 2 weeks to arrive. I haven't got it up and running yet as deciding on whether to have a seperate phone running just this, but I did pair it with my phone successfully. Datascan app for android is 7.00.

Hopefully will have it up and running next week

The company supply Canada: www.autodream.ca NewZealand: www.stahlcar.co.nz USA: http://www.obdinnovations.com/ selling at more than double the price

Hope this helps

That sounds like worn engine mounts to me bud. An OBD tool will only give you info based on electronic sensors and stored codes from their input... What it won't tell you is when your bushings go bad or a balljoint is shot.... hell, your cv joint could snap off and the OBD tool would say all was ok

Do the revs fluctuate during the loss of power/Jerking?
