fastest 1.0 k10

out of curiosity :glare: does anyone have the specs of the fastest ma10 k10? (if declared) as in 0-60 top speed hp and torque and maybe mods done to it :p

yes it's an ma09ert.... I don't know which is the fastest, but my K10 ma10s runs in arround 10 or less seconds 0-60 (don't really know, because I don't trust my gearbox).
I have never messured top speed, but should be arround a real 185 -190 km/h (114 mph) the air resistance is the biggest problem and I don't trust my gearbox anymore.
hp i didn't messure too but arround 90-100hp I will messure it next year.
My mods:
- twin 36 dcnf weber with custon inlet
- custom exhaust manifold
- 296° cam
- skimmed cylinder head with wider in and outlet canal (don't know the english terms)

Now the winter in coming and I decided to put my regular carb in, because I won't need the power in the winter and the standard carb uses less fuel :D

ive recently had my ma09ert (superturbo) dyno'd at 137bhp which i thought was ok considering its 930cc, the most restrictive part of the MA10 is the 2 manifolds i believe, i dont know who's is the fastest, there was a Dave Walker race engine on ebay a few days ago? that would make it awsome

It would be close with Baz and Ed, I would pay to see them do a quarter mile race. I reckon Ed would win,

Hasnt he got a bigger turbo fitted and nitrous?

ported (Y)

and them engines have potential :p

im thinkin of a ma10 build since i have a spare engine :p

The most restrictiv part is the exhaust manifold, with an custon exhaust manifold and a nice cam it should make much more.
If you look at this, this is an other german micra, but a ma12 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJuO5BsBTLs&feature=player_embedded
the mods there are just a 268cam and an exhaust manifold.
the only good thing at the standard manifold is that the one cylinder does not blow away the other cylinder... it has a really bad flow.

with bike carbs it should really be fast...

the ma12 is a longstroke engine, which means that it has nice torque but doesn't like high revs.... My ma10 has the most power at 6000rpm so why should I rev to 7000 or more?

assuming power doesn't drop suddenly, so the next gear drops straight in the power zone. no different in a mx5, OC's recommend reving the nuts off.

Sure, but you have a drop of arround 500rpm if you shift, so why torture the engine with high revs? I think it depends on the drivers profile

I believe the fastest ma10 would be the ma10t that's used in the figaro and k10 turbo standard it's around 70bhp iirc and I believe that a few years ago Ed (fusion) reckoned he could re-map it to around the 110bhp mark

Im hoping my ma10 engine im building should be a quick one.

Dave walker head:
#mega skim
#ported
#kent valve springs

custom cam (dunno duration)
cbr600 bike carbs
4 branch exhaust manifold
3.5kg flywheel

Baz would win then! I think his car is set up for track use with semi slicks and all that stuff. He took me out in it and it cournered like a fly.

Hands down Ed's would win on a 1/4 mile but on a track I wouldnt think so (Sorry Ed) , power isnt everything especially on a tight track like Mondello in Ireland

Some of the tuned Ma10's on here have made great power for what they are compared to the factory numbers and i'd say are nice to drive aswell

well ive a ma10 engine sitting at home with 53k on it and im thinkin on the lines of head work and decent inlet and exhaust and staying N/A a power gain of 20-30hp would be unreal to have

and to baz

mondello is 1 of the greatest tracks ever (Y)

like a 75hp ma10 with a decent suspension set up would be class round mondello :p

I want to get a k10 N/A noticed up there :glare:

(Y) Man definitely it would do well ,high compression (ish)high rpm, go kart style handling ( I'm 100% Johnny can get a great turn in for you) get all the weight out, but maybe go Ma12 ?

If you need help with suspension let me know , I have some ideas for cheap options

im acctually thinking of my road car doing a lap of mondello maybe even once just to be different (Y)

il leave suspension to jomo :p he is a little bit of an expert :glare: like unbelivable with all that :p

I think it will have arround 105hp or a bit more, depends on the skim. Also if this car should be your daily drive and you use the lightened flywheel your cam should not be more then 296° otherwise ist would be undriveable. It would be idling really bad.

It doesnt idle atm with the kent cam and non existent auto choke lol

Well it's about time we found out then :p
Go For It!! (Y)

Just gotta find some pipe for my inlet manifold and then an exhaust manifold and it will be going in

It's possible. But the engine will not last 60,000miles ;) that's clear.

Well its going in my daily so will have to see how many it will do. the engine ive built had 150k on the clock and the bottom end is untouched! just checked lol!

The fastest K10 MA10's i think are those autograss boys they get their 1.0l K10's over the 100bhp for racing :)

http://www.micra.org.uk/threads/37874-Autograss-class-4-2-micra-k10-on-ebay?p=401448&highlight=#post401448

"car weighs 490kg and has more bhp per tonne than a mitsibishi evo 10"

Not sure how long the engine would last but it would fly :p

I got the cylinder head of a grass track racer and he said with an SU carb on they saw over 100bhp on the dyno :blues:

My MA12

Dave walker race engine - Everything done!

With the Twin 36DCNF webers made 92 bhp

Search for my old thread of my 4 K10's

Wow i feel old now and only 21 :p

I love my twin 36dcnf :) it is such a fun to drive with them, but they are very thirsty ;)

this thread makes me wanna keep my ma10 and tune its nuts off, wait till i kill it then get engine swapping!
who has the most powerful ma10 or knows of the most powerful ma10 ever built just so i can beat it

mines getting there:

finished this off this evening
