Fast Idle Issues

hi guys. i have a little bit of a problem with my engine idle.

Here are the symptoms.

When its cold, it start, and ticks over fine, but once it gets hot, the idle (tick over) goes up too.

I have an apexi safc hooked up to it, and when it was running well, it was saying when the engine was cold 6% throttle was added (for the choke I think), and this slowly reduced until it was warm then it read 0%.

Now when its cold it reads 0% or 1% (even when its sub 0 freezing, i had it out when it was minus 9 here) and when it warms up it reads 3-4% throttle.

Its absolutely ripping through fuel (much more than my normal 25mpg), and its really getting costly. Im now getting worried about damaging the cat, or frying my turbo.

Any ideas, Im sure its electrical, but need some feedback before i rip the throttle body, coolant sensor, etc off it.

Right - even with the Apexi on when the engone is started - it shouldn't say 0.6 on the Throttle posistion.

Whats the air reading?

Those symptoms sound exactly like a faulty coolent sensor

nice one bro, that was one of my suspicions.

i had a tiny leak in my radiator the other week, and added a little (dare i say it) rad-weld to fix it. maybe clogged it up or something.

ill drain the cooling system and fit a new coolant sensor and see how i get on.

by the way the radiator is fine now.
