Extrernal Temp Sensor

Hi all, i recently installed the trip computer that sits above above the stereo into my 2004 K12.... It came from a 2003 model which was scrapped, the wiring was straight forward and it sat straight in and works fine..

The only problem is the external (i think) temp sensor that is in the middle of the display. My car not have the sensor needed (again, i think) it just reads '---oC' all the time. Just wondering does anyone know where the sensor might be located on the donor car because im stumped by it and the blank reading is doing mt head in grr

If you have not figured it out by now - it is located near to the front hood lock. Between the front bumper and the radiator.
I did the same to my 2004 K12 and I found a free connector near the horn that was for the outside temperature sensor.

I fancied adding this to mine, is the wiring already in place, does it just plug in?

is the sensor there already (i very much doubht) or will it be a scrapyard job?
