Engine revs remain high when slowing down.

I have a 1.3 CVT, recently this week seems to developed an annoying fault. The vehicle still runs, but naturally wouldn’t prefer this issue.

When travelling at speed, the vehicle slows down, but the engine revs remain fairly high, it’s not until you come to an almost standstill, that it goes into idle mode.

I suppose it might be a sticking throttle cable, but it feels more like something else IE engine management, (maybe throttle body)? Anyone else had this issue?

I have the same exact problem, ir started when I swapped a 1.3 in. When driving the engine stays at about 2krpm and when the car stops it goes to idle. Don't know a fix to this...

likely the idle control valve, there is a procedure to set them in base idle mode

Thanks for both replies.
Yeah mine idles like about 2k, just suddenly started doings this, thought be the cold air affecting choke or something.

Idle control valve sounds very plausible!
