Engine flood every morning

K11 Micra 1995 1.0. The engine is flooding every morning nowadays.
I have to remove the fuel pump fuse and crank for ages to burn off the spent fuel.
It seems the ignition system can't handle a cold engine/rich mix.
I plan to replace the spark plugs (they have been in for 50k!).
Will this fix the problem?

Replace the sparks as these are ment to be done every 18k miles or one a year. The other question i would ask is how far is your last journey before you stop the car, as engine flooding is common when you move the car just several meters.

I have experienced the "short move" flooding problem once or twice before. But this is different. Park up after a 30 mile journey home from work. Next morning it has flooded engine symptoms.

Could possible be leaky injectors, but i have not heard of this on K11

Its a known fault with K11. A replacement wiring harness for one of the engine sensors fixed it OK.
