Door lock

Ever since ive had the car i have been unable to push the black door lock stick down on the driver side when inside but it moves down when i lock the door with the key. Is this the norm or do i have a problem?

i took mine out

this gave me problems when i retro fitted a central locking system, forgot how i worked around it, as i did it so long ago !

thats the reason i was asking as intend to fit central locking and an alarm hopefully but not sure if this is going to cause a problem

fitting central locking in a k10 is easy, dunno why you lot have had trouble with it
