Does anyone know what this is???

Hey all
I have a 55 1.4 16v k12 with airconditioning

Whilst walking back to my car the other day i noticed something hanging down under the engine bay on the passenger side i had a closer look, to find a plug hanging by the wire, now, everything works on the car as should, its running fine, no warning lights etc, the only thing that doesnt work is the aircon doesnt get cold
I have looked everywhere i can see but cannot see where it should go??

Here are some pics of it, does any of you more knowledgable people recognise it???

its just an unused connector don't worry about it
