Decent engine oil for K10 1.0?

I last changed the engine oil and filter about a year ago. Garage did it, so not quite sure what they poured in.

I would like to do an oil change myself this week, so just wondering what sort of oil I need?

At a guess 10w - 40 semi synthetic, am I right? I don't need anything fancy. The 10w - 40 is £13 from ASDA for 5l

Incidentally, for those of you with a higher performance car than the Micra, Halfords are doing 5l of Mobil 1 10w - 40 semi synth for £20 at the moment, saving £5 on the regular price, so if any of you need some oil, go stock up now!

Yep i saw that in halfords, i used semi synthetic 10w 40 oil in the MA10 and new filter if its just a daily driver like mine was

i got some Mobil 1 0w 40 for my super turbo for almost £50 i felt like i had been robbed but if it keeps her ticking its worth it (Y)

So 10w - 40 you say? Any idea if a brand called Carlube is any good? My local motor factors do 5l for £11.01, for semi synth 10w - 40.

i have used carlube in the past (also carlube 2 stoke when i had my pedder) and my cousins garage swears by it as its always available at our autofactors in industrial containers

i used castrol magnetec... was on special at halfies too.
