De-cat?

Some questions

1) If I remove/replace mid exhaust cat will it pass MOT or get me in trouble?

2) I can get a janspeed de-cat which looks just like a normal cat, is it but with no insides?
If so, could I just smash the insides of a spare one out?

3) Would a straight through pipe be better?

1) there no way in hell itll pass an mot lol
2)the janspeed decat is a silencer so it quietans it down ain has taken a std cat and gutted it again itll not pass an mot
3) most ppl go for a pipe with 2 flanges on which is cheaper and easier to make

Humm...

The reason for the first question was that Hughes16v has a pipe welded in place of the cat and it's passed mot (the MOT guys even wrote something on it)

So the Janspeed de-cat makes it quieter only, does the straight through pipe give better performance?

should pass with the cat in the manifold still on the car. i think. which one did nissan get rid of after 2000?
