de-cat question

am i right in thinking if i had a de-cat i wont pass my MOT?
something about cars registered after 93?
if anyone could clear this up thanks!

yep, it cuts the emissions quite a bit...not sure if someone has passed without one?
Basically what people do is de-cat it, non weld type and put it back in for the mot, then take it straight back out after...

I think it should pass with one cat, but you can't take them both out

the second cat can be taken out but the will fail with both of them out. Leave the main one in the one at the front and remove the second one if you must.

my car passed with just the bottom cat

It's a bit of a gamble with just the bottom cat isn't it? Some cars do, some don't?

why not take it off and give it a good clean out so that you can see through the mesh in it sounds better as well ( well it does to me )

mine aint lol, i think its head gasket is on it way out, or some oil seals as it burns oil and smokes alot...

could be your vaule stem seals aswell had that problem lol
