Dattosan Machi Suzuki twincam 4wd project pg22

This project is going massively different direction.

Axles, floors, suspension, engine ect are getting cut out and welded into my riley elf.

I'm making a new chassis for the micra because is undriveable low and I want it lower.

I'll be starting it as soon as my 32 is moted in a week or so.

Come on guys, guess what engine and running gear is going into the micra :D

just a note, looking on the previous page i think the altenator is the wrong side of the bracket as it was never that close to the chassis, but iirc i think a machined my pully down
 
Scotty I think we figured it out when I first built the conversion. You said my alternator was upside down, but we also decided facelift and pre facelift were different because I had to sleeve the shaft to get the multi vee pulley on there :)

I'm not crazy enough to use parts from my 200sx drift car lol.

You may have guessed the rwd bit though ;) I was worried a rwd micra would be twitchy until I realised my mx5 is 35mm shorter wheelbase lol
 
yes mate engine up front. iam making a chassis jig for the mx5 and then mounting all the mx5 subframes ect into the micra. Iam trying to retain as much of the mx5s handling caracteristics as possible.
 
I have for sale. Twin weber dcnfs 36, matched and jetted on a rolling road for a cg13. comes with linkages and manifold ect.
I also have a ma12 dizzy thats modded for the cg13 engine.

I paid scott over £210 for this setup but iam trying to sell it all. so ill start off at £120 or £130 delivered. The engine made 100hp which is a 20hp increase ;)
 
ill also sell my cammed engine with headwork. it really is a sweet engine and really pulls hard. the compression is really good on this engine compared with the old engine.

£200 ono will need collecting.

and ill also sell the secu, loom and sr20 throttle body setup which runs cga manifold, primera injectors, tweaked fuel regulator, sr20 tb with cg maf and top feed rail.

£75 or £90 delivered

Just out of interest you still got/ selling that engine mount for the engine?

Mx 5 engine and running gear in a k10! When you starting this?
 
Yes mate 130 is fine :)

Where are you? iam in exeter in devon. I dont mind posting the carbs and dizzy but ill have to double check what itll cost. And ill dig out the dizzy tomorrow. iam not 100% where i put it but it will either be in my garage, my dads garage or in the boot of the micra :D

The mount will be for sale, but i may have to send it up seperate because its bolted to the engine and its an engine out job to remove it. ill be taking the engine out soon though.

Yup mx5 running gear into my micra :D. itll be like a practical mx5 that i can carry my drift wheels and tyres in. the mx5 has plenty of beans for drifting, but will be even better in the lighter micra shell with 13s instead of 15s :D

I went straight into the qualifying runs with only 2 practice runs.

I qualified 3rd for the top 16

I beat it and then went onto finish 3rd overall

The car has turned out to be pretty amazing. it feels surreal that i own a car of this calibre and pretty amazing that i was able to jump straight into it and come 3rd without any real practice :D In fact both practice runs resulted in something breaking :D

Ou of interest did you remove the rear axle from the car? I wanna add a tad of camber but dont want to mess about taking axle off lol. Any news on the new direction for the micra?
 
The micra is on hold for a minute or two because I hate my 205 mi16 cti :( I'm swapping it for another mx5 lol

then when I make the space ill start putting my other mx5 running gear into the micra :D

I left the axle in the car and welded to flanges on, then cut the axle in half :)
 
nice one kev rwd k10 ftw! ;) wish i kept mine now:( kev maybe your the man to ask, ive got a corolla gti now and the 4age has just chucked a rod through the block. i have just got a 20v 4age silvertop and the wiring is different. ive got the 20v engine harness and ecu. would you know about wiring it in? im having trouble with the wiring diagrams. would it be just a case of wiring the ecu lives and ect in just like we did with our k10's? its just im stuck and haven't got the money for a proper loom to be made up. plus i would rather do it myself lol. if you have any ideas that would be awesome mate.

Whats the deal with the driftworks s15? I thought it can compete in ODC or BDC anymore because of the new rules about modified fire wall?

I am sure thats one of the reason why they sold it.

There are no rules in the UK:ODC or the new series drift masters. It will be illegle in bdc and drift allstars from the beginning of 2014. i think they wanted to just move on and sell the car before it got ruined. people have proved that you can take a fairly normal car and beat it lol :D

My r32 has got an sr20det from an s13 180sx, the weight distribution is 50:50 and it handles amazing. my old s13 has an rb25 in it and it a waste of engine for anything under 500/600hp the standard sr20 can cope with 400hp. mine has hks cams, greddy intake, hks turbo kit ect ect. it make 340hp at 1.4 bar and thats where the turbo runs out of puff. ill fit a bigger turbo next year. i have enough spec to reach 400-440hp once i have a bigger turbo :D
 
i still have the s13 btw. its just a bare shell with a 320hp rb25, gearbox ect and a bdc spec rollcage lol i also have a spare r32 4door shell so i might make another badass four door :D

That's what's good about having space. I have this fc3s project I need I finish. I always wanted to drift but I never finish the car :( also living down south doesn't help it. There is nowhere to practice here.
Always liked the r32. Definitely best looking skyline.
Sr20 is surely good choice for that level of competition. You can get reliable 550 with stroker kit. Plenty of spares too.

Are you using trailer or is it road legal?

Also Devon isnt much better for drift practice. I always go to pembrey which is 4 hours each way. We have a smeatharpe bit its pretty boring and cones :/

my s13 is very rotten and just a bare shell now with nothing in ot at all :/

get an mx5 they are so cool to drive :) my latest cost me 300 and drift it straight away :)
 
cool i was looking at mx5's a while back quite like them. my mate slags them off but i drove one once and i liked it. aint it the early mx5's that are pretty much fit for a big fat blower? im sure i read somewhere that the engines were designed as a turbo engine but they dint bother fitting the blowers to them?
 
The engine block is a 323 turbo block ;) the port for oil feed already exists and people run 5psi with retarded ignition and adjustable fuel reg :D I love them :)
 
sweet i remember reading a jpm or banzi a while back and it said something like that. ive just never thought of mx5's dunno why the hell theve slipped my mind. now you've reminded me i will have a hunt around. is there any paticular 5 to look for or are they all the same apart from engine size?
 
Yeah pretty much the same. Look out for mk1 1.6 and all you need is ebay coilovers and a welded diff. My last one just had standard diff.

imports are more to insure but not really that different.

there are always mx5 for sale on driftworks :D
 
Deposit paid on 10k miles 13b with loads of parts. Should be delivered in a week or so :)

Materials sourced and collected for my chassis jig. Hoping to get on with it as soon as I put a new gearbox in my driftcar :)

However I had 1st of 2 interviews for a badass New job. If I get it ill be working 10 hours a day 6 days per week. So no more car projects or drifting. Will be worth it though

i stupidly sold the s12 when i was lacking money, i now have rx7 FC N/A. Just done the exhaust, 3" all the way through, sound ridicilous. I just need to get trailer and something to trailer it with
 
The new job is building rallycross cars for Liam Doran motorsport currently doing some private work on Pat and Liams new ds3s :) I start full time in about a week's time :)

the sr20 inlet setup was never for sale on its own. Only with the cammed engine. But had no interest so Iam now using the engine for a project :D
 
Currently though in any spare time i get iam trying to design my own anti lag sytem.

Im going to use megasquirt to control the engine as per norm and then iam looking into using the new little arduino processor jobbies vvvvv

its about £20 for a starter kit and there are guys running these on 4cyl deisel and gokarts ect

my plan is too use it as an anti lag controller.

And iam planning on going down either the air by pass or egr anti lag haha
 
started to do some work on the micra. I hope to take it to japfest :)

I started by making a new exhaust. It is solid mounted from the tank back and has a flexi joint to take up any movement.

I have also rebuilt the sr20.cg13 tb/afm mod. I have used some full retard quick steel and coated it in pu sealant. I also fitted an air filter to the ga16 airbox.

I fitted a deepdish steering wheel and hovered out the interior.

The exhaust goes over the axle this time but iam retaining the k series 4 branch and cherry bombs.. My welder is **** and my welds are not so cool :/

Now has buddy club integra rear coilovers and they are sweet with 7k hsd springs. Fully adjustable :)

It is in fully raised position for mot :)

It feels kinda slow with the 1300 gearbox and full weight flywheel. The slightly worked engine goes nicely though.

I want to try a 1.3 ecu on the rollers. I also have some 36mm itbs, so iam tempted to play with them and see what i can come up with :)
