<p>Its quite rare that people will go to the lengths required on a GTi-R to produce a car capable of 500bhp, various reasons such as weak gearboxes and cost of parts often prevent this. However there are some who can take this crown.</p>
<p>Danny built his Sunny GTi-R (Yep a real UK one) the way it should be done from the start. A 3076 turbo currently provides the boost matched to a fairly well spec'ed but not over the top engine, with pretty normal 264 cams. The difference is the attention to details where it matters. The exhaust and tubular manifold is free flowing well designed. The external wastegate is the right one for the job. Overall we could see before it even went onto the dyno that everything about this setup complimented each other.</p>
<p>Attention was also paid to the fuel system. An external swirl pot with Bosch 044 and aero quip lines provided the fuel supply. Short cabling to the pump ensured that voltage would not be a problem.</p>
<p>So onto the dyno we went, and below are the results:</p>
