Cvt automatic

Hi there,
i've recently acquired a Nissan March (Micra) Cabriolet, 1270 cc with a CVT automatic box, imported from Japan;
has purportedly done about 70,000 miles;
has a new MOT and drives well and looks great; V5C shows two previous lady owners (honestly!)

the box drives normally and the only 'fly in the ointment' is an intermittent quite high-pitched though not all that loud 'skittering' noise, which sometimes happens when you pull up to a halt; don't think it's the brakes (has had new pads);

other suspects mentioned by people are one of the the auxiliary drive belts (it has two of them) but i can't help thinking, being a pessimist by nature, it's coming from the CVT box.

anybody come across this?

Could be the cvt kevlar belts slipping. Check oil level in box (engine at normal temp. shifter in neutral)
Also check for sticking front brakes.

If its difficult to select drive or reverse its probably the torque converter.
