Clunking from Front under Braking?

Hey guys

I noticed a couple of times today when doing some hard braking (due to me not paying attention more than anything), there seems to be a clunking/knocking coming from the front of the car.
I don't think it's the ABS kicking in as I've felt that in the car before, and it made an erk erk erk sound while kicking up the brake (on ice, that was!)

Anyone got any ideas? I'm being a bit cautious as apparently Cabriolets have shockingly weak suspension mounts, bushes etc

It's not squealing under braking though, like metal upon metal. But just a thunk thunk sound if I really slam on the anchors. (sorry, I describe stuff with sounds lol)

check if ur calipers r bolted up and not rattling about, and also look at ur suspension struts and driveshaft for any play.
